Mestemacher operates its own mill where it freshly mills organic and conventional rye into wholemeal rye meal before baking. While conventional flours lose valuable ingredients, the rye meal remains rich in minerals such as potassium and phosphorus as well as B vitamins.
Mestemacher has been promoting organic farming since 1985 and is actively involved in nature conservation. As the first producer of packaged wholemeal breads sourced from controlled organic cultivation, the plant bakery has been promoting the existence and growth of organic farmers since 1985.
