Harry – the sleeping cock on curd bread with herb butter

Ingredients serves 4

  • 4 slices of Mestemacher curd bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 grams of room-temperature butter
  • ½ bunch of parsley
  • ½ bunch of dill
  • Paprika powder, salt and pepper according to taste
  • 4 black olives
  • 2 carrots
  • ½ iceberg lettuce

Preparation

  1. Boil the eggs for 8 minutes and allow them to cool down.
  2. Pluck the herbs, wash and chop them finely. Put aside a few stalks of chives for the eyelashes. Mix the butter with the herbs and season with paprika, salt and pepper.
  3. Cut the bread slices in the form of an egg and spread herb butter onto them. Peel the eggs, halve them and place them on the butter.
  4. Cut the carrots into slices and use these slices to form the cocks’ combs and beaks. Halve the olives. Chop the chives finely. Now decorate the eggs like on the photo, creating a face.
  5. Wash the iceberg lettuce, cut it finely and spread it on a plate. Place the breads on the lettuce and serve.
